At a Meeting of the Proprietors of Messuages, Lands and Hereditaments within the Township of Crosthwaite and Lyth held at the Punch Bowl Inn Crosthwaite aforesaid on Tuesday the 22nd day of November 1864 at one o'clock in the afternoon pursuant to a Notice given of which the following is a Copy.

Notice is hereby given that a Meeting of the Proprietors of Messuages, Lands and Hereditaments within the Township of Crosthwaite and Lyth will be held at the Punch Bowl Inn Crosthwaiteon on Tuesday Nov 12th 1864 instant at one o'clock in the afternoon for the purposes of Transferring the Several Leases of Whitbarrow Allotments, Game, Quarries etc for the ensuing year.

Resolved that James Burrow be and he is hereby appointed Chairman of this Meeting.

Resolved that the Eatage and Depasturage, together with the Cottage House and Garden, also the surplus Rock, Limestone and Gravel and the other Materials, also all Game, Rabbits and Wildfowl with the rights of Shooting in and upon certain Allotments situated upon Whitbarrow and numbered in the Award and Plan 649A, 665 and 666A and set out and awarded to the Proprietors of Messuages, Lands and Hereditaments within the Township of Crosthwaite and Lyth be Leased for the terms of one year subject to and in accordance with resolutions 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 and 8 passed at a Meeting on the 22nd day of November 1860 and it is further resolved that the respective tenants named in the aforesaid resolution numbered 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 and 8 be and they are hereby declared to be the tenants for the ensuing year at the respective rents (except resolution 4 to be as herein after stated as to this rent) and subject to the several Rules and Regulations therein referred to -
And it is further Resolved that in Consequence of a part of the Land in the Allotment No 666A having been planted an abatement of eight pounds from the original rent shall be made for the Land so taken and the tenant shall pay for the ensuing year the rent of £32.

At a Meeting of the Proprietors of Messuages, Lands and Hereditaments within the Township of Crosthwaite and Lyth held at the Punch Bowl Inn in Crosthwaite aforesaid on Wednesday the 22nd day of November 1865 at one o'clock in the afternoon pursuant to a Notice given of which the following is a copy -

I am requested to give you Notice that a Meeting of the Proprietors of Messuages, Lands and Hereditaments within the Township of Crosthwaite with Lyth, will be held at the Punch Bowl Inn Crosthwaite aforesaid on Wednesday the 22nd day of November, at one o'clock in the afternoon for the following purposes -

1st To determine upon the propriety of Leasing for one year the Eatage and depasturage of and also all the Surplus Rock and Limestone, Game and Nuts, within certain Allotments set out and awarded to the Proprietors of Messuages, Lands and Hereditaments within Crosthwaite with Lyth aforesaid, over and above what may be then deemed sufficient for the use and consumption of the said Proprietors.

2nd If the Meeting should determine so to dispose of the Eatage and Depasturage and also of the Surplus Rock and Limestone, Game and Nuts, of and in the same Allotments, then to receive proposals from and enter into a Contract with any person or persons willing to become such Lessee or Lessees.

1st resolved that (blank space) be and he is hereby appointed Chairman of this Meeting.

2nd Resolved that the Eatage and Depasturage of the Allotment No 666A aforesaid be leased for the term of one year and to be renewed yearly until the expiration of Seven years subject to and in accordance with the following resolutions -

3rd Resolved that F A Argles be and he is hereby appointed Chairman of this Meeting.

4th Resolved that the Eatage and Depasturage of the Allotment situated upon Whitbarrow and numbered upon the Award plan 666A set out and Awarded to the Proprietors of Messuages, Lands and Hereditaments within Crosthwaite and Lyth be leased for one year and renewed yearly until the expiration of seventy years subject to and in accordance with the following conditions and reservations -

5th The Proprietors reserve to themselves the whole of plantation on the East side and formerly part of the said Allotment, also the Cottage House and Garden and the whole of the Nutwood and Nuts growing thereon, also liberty to get and quarry stones and materials for building and other purposes either for themselves or tenants of the several Quarries and to take and carry away the same without being subject to to damages for so doing.

6th The Proprietors also reserve to themselves all Game, Rabbits and Wildfowl which may come or be produced thereon with power to kill and carry away the same.

7th The tenant shall not cut down or destroy any Wood growing upon the said Allotment nor indeed to assign over or part with the possession of the said Allotment without consent in writing from the Proprietors.

8th Resolved that Mr James Green having bid the sum of forty eight pounds, he is hereby declared to be the tenant or Lessee of the Eatage and Depasturage of the Allotment No 666A situated upon Whitbarrow subject to and in accordance with the aforesaid conditions and resolutions for the term of one year to be computed from the 25th day of April next at the rate of forty eight pounds to be payable on the first day of June next, if demanded.

9th Resolved that the Eatage and Depasturage in the Allotment 649A and the Surplus Rock and Limestone , Gravel and other Materials in the same Allotment. Also the Cottage House and Garden, Rabbits and Wildfowl and the Surplus Rock and Limestone and other Materials in the Allotment No 666A be leased for the term of one year subject to and in accordance with Resolutions 2,4,5,6,7, and 8 passed at the Meeting held on 22nd day of November 1860 and it is further resolved that the respective tenants named in the aforesaid Resolutions No 2,4,5,6,7 and 8 shall be the tenants for the ensuing year at the respective rents therein stated and the several Rules and Regulations therein referred to -

Resolved that the tenant of the Nutwood in the Allotment No 666A be declared at present, when demanded to hold the said Nutwood from the 25th day of April next. Resolved that Mr Wm Garnett be and he is hereby appointed and authorized to affix the common Seal of the aforesaid Proprietors to the Leases so made and prepared as aforesaid.

Resolved that the Eatage and Depasturage together with the Cottage House and Garden, also the Surplus Rock and Limestone and Gravel and other Materials, also all Game, Rabbits and Wildfowl with the right of Shooting in and upon certain allotments situated upon Whitbarrow and numbered in the Award and Plan 649a, 665, and 666a set out and awarded to the Proprietors of Messuages, Lands and Hereditaments within Crosthwaite and Lyth be Leased for the Term of one year subject to and in accordance with resolutions 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 and 8 passed at a meeting held on the 22nd day of November 1860 save and except the resolution No 4 which has reference to the reletting of the eatage and depasturage of the Whitbarrow allotment to Mr James Green. When on the 22nd day of November 1865 it was resolved that as Mr James Green having bid the sum of forty eight pounds per annum he is hereby declared to be the Tenant and also the others are hereby declared to be the respective tenants for the coming year at the rents as before and subject to the same Rules and Regulations therein referred to.

At a Meeting of the Proprietors of Messuages, Lands and Hereditaments within the Township of Crosthwaite and Lyth held at the Punch Bowl Inn Crosthwaite on Thursday 22nd day of August 1867 at 2 o'clock in the afternoon of the underwritten when Notice is hereby given that the Meeting of the Proprietors of Messuages, Lands and Hereditaments within the Township of Crosthwaite and Lyth will be held at the Punch Bowl Inn Crosthwaite, Thursday the 22nd day of August 1867 at 2 o'clock in the afternoon to decide upon the desirability of applying the present Surplus of Whitbarrow in and of the Lyth Marsh drainage rate.

That out of the sum of about £50 stated to be the balance in hand of the Whitbarrow rents, ten pounds to authorise, to be expended in aid of the expenses of repairing Raw hedge way Bridge being a public bridge and the residue in widening and improving the River Road from the Junction with Underbarrow Pool upward, the latter being works which are of great public advantage and not capable of being carried into effect by the usual public rates and carried accordingly.

Notice is hereby given that the Annual Meeting of the Proprietors of Messuages, Lands and Hereditaments within the Township of Crosthwaite and Lyth will be held at the Punch Bowl Inn Crosthwaite on Friday 22nd day of November instant at one o'clock in the afternoon for the purpose of renewing the Leases of the Eatage and Depasturage of the Whitbarrow Allotments for the ensuing year and also for letting the Stone quarries and game.

Resolved that William Garnett be and he is hereby appointed Chairman of this Meeting

(1) Resolved that the Eatage and Depasturage, together with the Cottage House and Garden, also the Surplus Rock, Limestone and Gravel and other Materials, also Nuts, also all Game, Rabbits and Wildfowl, with the right of shooting in and upon certain Allotments situated upon Whitbarrow and mentioned in the Award and Plan 649A and 666A set out and awarded to the Proprietors of Messuages, Lands and Hereditaments within the Township of Crosthwaite and Lyth Leased as following -

(2) The Eatage and Depasturage in the Allotments No 649A together with the Surplus Rock, Limestone, Gravel and other Materials, be leased to Thomas Clark for the term of one year at the rent of one pound to computed from the 25th day April next and subject to the resolution and conditions proposed at a Meeting held on the 22nd day of Nov 1860 and numbered 7 therein.

(3) Also the Eatage and Depasturage in the Allotment No 666A be leased for the term of one year to James Green, Ambleside at the rent of forty eight pounds to be computed from the 25th day of April next and and subject to Resolution 2 and conditions therewith passed at the Meeting held on the 22nd day of November 1865.

(4) Also the Cottage House and Garden situated in No 666A be leased to James Strickland for the term of one year to be computed from the 12th day of May next at the rent of five pounds, also the right of getting Nuts in the above Allotment to be leased to the said James Strickland for the term of one year computed from the 25th day April next at the rent of two pounds (Ed. - faintly in pencil)

(5)And it is further resolved that the Surplus Rock, Limestone and other Materials in the aforesaid Allotment 666A be leased for the term of one year (renewable yearly for the term of five years) to be computed from the 22nd day of November instant subject to and in accordance with Resolution 8 and condition therewith proposed at a Meeting held on the 22nd Nov 1860 -

(6) Resolved that as George Mop having bid the sum of thirteen pounds, fifteen shillings, he is hereby declared to be the tenant or Lessee in the Quarries in the Allotment situated upon Whitbarrow in No 666A in the said Allotment subject to the resolutions above named.

(7)And it is further resolved that the Game, Rabbits and Wildfowl and the exclusive rights of Shooting in and upon the Whitbarrow Allotment No 666A be leased for the term of one year (renewable yearly for the term of five years to be computed from the 25th day of April next and subject to resolution 5 passed at a Meeting held on the 22nd day of November 1869 and such other resolutions as may therein be referred to.

(8) Resolved that Mr F A Argles Esq having bid the sum of fourteen pounds he is hereby declared to be the Lessee or Tenant of the Game and right of Shooting in and upon the Allotment No 666A situated upon Whitbarrow subject to and in accordance with the resolution above referred to.

Notice is hereby given that the Annual Meeting of the Proprietors of Messuages, Lands and Hereditaments within the Township of Crosthwaite and Lyth will be held at the Punch Bowl Inn Crosthwaite on Monday the 22nd day of November instant at two o'clock in the afternoon for the purpose of renewing the several leases of the tenants of Whitbarrow Allotments, Quarries etc for the ensuing year.

Resolved that the Eatage and Depasturage together with the Cottage House, Garden and Nuts. Also the Surplus Rock, Limestone, Gravel and other Materials, also all Game, Rabbits and Wildfowl, with the right of Shooting in and upon certain Allotments situated upon Whitbarrow and numbered in the Award and Plan 649A and 666A set out and awarded to the Proprietors of Messuages, Lands and Hereditaments within the Township of Crosthwaite and Lyth be leased.

Resolved that the Eatage and Depasturage in the Allotment No 649A together with the Surplus Rock and Limestome, Gravel and other Materials be leased to Thomas Clark of Fellend Witherslack for the term of one year at the rent of one pound to be computed from the 25th day of April next and to be subject to the Resolutions and Conditions passed at a Meeting held on 22nd day of November 1860 and numbered 7 therein.

Also the Eatage and Depasturage of the Allotment No 666A to be leased except the plantation which is reserved for the term of one year to James Green of Ambleside at the rent of forty eight pounds to be computed from the 23rd day of April next and subject to resolution 2 and condition therein passed at a Meeting held on the 22nd day of Nov 1865.

Also the Cottage House and Garden situated in No 666A be leased to James Strickland Junior for the term of one year to be computed from the 12th day of May next at the rent of five pounds, also the right of getting Nuts in the above Allotment to be leased to the said James Strickland for the term of one year to be computed from the 28th day of April next at the rent of two pounds.

And that the Surplus Rock and Limestone and other Materials in the aforesaid Allotment No 666A be leased at and for the term of One year to George Mop at the rent of thirteen pounds fifteen shillings to be computed from the 22nd day of November instant subject to and in accordance with resolutions and Conditions passed at a Meeting held on 22nd day of Nov 1860 -

And also that all the Game, Rabbits and Wildfowl and the right of Shooting in and upon the Allotment No 666A be leased to F.A. Argles Esq for the term of one year to be computed from the 25th day of April next at the rent of fourteen pounds subject to and in accordance with a resolution passed at the Meeting held on the 22nd day of Nov 1867.

Moved by Mr Joseph Burrow, Seconded by Mr John Woof that this Meeting be adjourned to the 22nd day of December next, then to determine upon the propriety of letting the Depasturage of the plantation in the Allotment No 666A situated upon Whitbarrow and awarded to the Proprietors of Messuages, Lands and Hereditaments within the Township of Crosthwaite and Lyth and that due Notice be given to the said Proprietors.

Punch Bowl Crosthwaite 22 Dec to be at a Meeting of the Proprietors of Messuages, Lands and Hereditaments in Crosthwaite & Lyth held according to the last resolution of the Meeting of the 22 Nov last and of which notice was sent to the said Proprietors in writing by Mr Wm Garnett seconded F A Argles by Chairman Mr E Wilson, Mr Martindale.

Present F A Argles, Chairman, Wm Garnett, J Burrow, Rev E Wilson, Mr H Martindale, Jos Burrow, J Woof, G Taylor, Bob Turner A Martindale, F Lucas, J Pearson, W Martindale, G Moon, J Walker, Wm Simpson, D Dickinson, J Martindale and Sharples Cartmell.

Proposed by Mr Joseph Burrow and seconded by Mr Woof that the Pasturage of the Plantation on Whitbarrow part of Allotment 666a be let by proposal for a like term as the rest of the allotments.

Amendment proposed by Rev E Wilson seconded by Mr Bob Turner that it is not desirable that any change should take place in the disposal of the plantation till the expiration of the five years for which for which the use of the pasturage of the rest of the allotment is indeed to be let.

There were 11 in favour of the amendment and 5 against. It was resolved according to the amendment.

Notice is hereby given that a Meeting of the Proprietors of Messuages, Lands and Hereditaments within the Township of Crosthwaite and Lyth will be held at the Punch Bowl Inn Crosthwaite on Tuesday the 22nd day of November at 2 o'clock in the afternoon for the purpose of Transferring the several Leases belonging to Whitbarrow Allotments and other matters relating thereto.

Resolved that the Rev Edward Wilson be and he is hereby appointed Chairman of this Meeting.

Resolved that Mr James Green of Ambleside be and he is hereby declared to be the tenant or Lessee of the allotment No 666a situated upon Whitbarrow and awarded to the Proprietors of Messuages, Lands and Hereditaments for the term of one year at the rent of forty eight pounds subject to and in accordance with the Resolution 1 - 2,3,4,5,6,7 passed at the Meeting held on the 22nd day of November 1865 subject to and in accordance with the aforesaid conditions.

Resolved that Mr Thomas Clark be and he is hereby declared to be the Tenant or Lessee of the Allotment No 649 at Whitescar for the term of one year year to be computed from the 25th day of April next at the rent of one pound subject to and in accordance with the aforesaid conditions.

Resolved that George Moss be and he is hereby declared to be the Tenant of the several Quarries subject to the aforesaid conditions for the term of one year from the 22nd day of November instant at and for the the rent of thirteen pounds and fifteen shillings due on entry.

And it is further resolved that F A Argles Esq of Eversley, Milnthorpe be and he is hereby declared to be the Lessee of the right of Shooting in and upon the allotments No 666A including the plantation subject to the aforesaid Conditions for one year from the 25th day of April 1871 at the rent of fourteen pounds.

And it is further resolved that James Strickland Junior be and he is hereby declared to be the tenant of the Cottage House Garden and Nutwood situated on the Allotment No 666a for the term of one year from the twelfth day of May next at the rent of seven pounds.

At a Meeting of the Proprietors of Messuages, Lands and Hereditaments within the Township of Crosthwaite and Lyth geld at the Punch Bowl Inn Crosthwaite on Wednesday the 22nd November 1871 at 2 o'clock in the afternoon pursuant to a Notice duly given of which the following is a copy-

Notice is hereby given that a Meeting of the Proprietors of Messuages, Lands and Hereditaments within the Township of Crosthwaite and Lyth will be held at the Punch Bowl Inn Crosthwaite on Wednesday the 22nd of November instant at two o'clock in the afternoon for the purpose of Transferring the several Leases belonging to the Whitbarrow Allotments and other matters relating thereto.

Resolved that E Wilson be and he is hereby appointed Chairman of this meeting

Present Messrs Garnett, Joseph Burrow, Dickinson, Woof

Resolved that Mr James Green be and he is hereby declared to be the Tenant or Lessee of the Allotment No 666A situated upon Whitbarrow and awarded to the Proprietors of Messuages, Lands and Hereditaments for the term of one year at the rent of forty eight pounds subject to and in accordance with resolutions 1-2,3,4,5,6,7 passed at a meeting held on the 22nd November 1865 subject to and in accordance with the aforesaid conditions.
Resolved that Mr Thomas Clark be and he is hereby declared to be the Tenant or Lessee of the Allotment No 649 at Whitescar for the term of one year to be computed from the 25th day of April next at the rent of £1 subject to and in accordance with the aforesaid conditions.

Resolved that George Moss be and he is hereby declared to be the Tenant of the Several Quarries subject to the aforesaid conditions for the term of one year from the 22nd day of November instant at and for the rent of thirteen pounds fifteen shillings due on entry.

And it is further resolved that F A Argles Esq of Eversley Milnthorpe be and he is hereby declared to be the Lessee of the rights of Shooting in and upon the Allotments No 666A including the plantation subject to the aforesaid conditions for one year from the 25th day of April 1871 at the rent of fourteen pounds.

And it is further resolved that James Strickland Jun be and he is hereby declared to be the Tenant of the Cottage House Garden and Nutwood situated on the Allotment No 666A for one year from the 12th day of May next at the rent of seven pounds.

And it is further resolved that ten pounds be granted annually out of the Whitbarrow rents to Mrs Lucas for teaching plain knitting and sewing as has been agreed upon 22nd of June 1871.
