Crosthwaite Community News report April 18th 2019


Crosthwaite and Lyth Parish Council are looking for a self employed person to work one day per month on drain maintenance (a job sometimes referred to as a ‘Lengthsman’). Experience is not necessary, just enthusiasm as training/mentoring will be offered. Full details from Martin French on

All households in the Parish have now received the consultation document from the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group. The Parish Council are keen that all residents respond to the questionnaire, which should be filled in and returned in the original envelope to the collection boxes located in the Village Hall and the Church foyer, by April 24th.

Residents with mobility problems may request collection by contacting Martin French on 07704185545.

When Spring Cleaning sheds, lofts etc, please remember the Annual Jumble Sale and Auction, which will be held in the Village Hall on Saturday May 11th. Donations of clothing, household goods, bric-a-brac, furniture, sporting goods etc. are all welcome. Bulky items can be collected, please contact Anne Douglas on 07813489620 to arrange.

Advance notice of the Science Open Day on Monday April 29th at Crosthwaite Primary School. Come and see what the children get up to in their school Science lessons. Everyone is invited, please drop in between 9.30am and 3pm, no need to contact school beforehand.
