Crosthwaite Community News report March 28th 2019

Argles Memorial Hall Committee placed a bid in December for funding towards the replacement of some of the windows in the Hall. The application was for a grant from the SLDC Locally Important Projects fund. The Committee put forward the case for replacing the windows, as the seals have failed on many of the double glazed units.

The Committee is pleased to report that the bid has been successful. £2000 has been granted to partially fund the work, the remainder is to come from Hall funds. It is hoped that the work can take place during the summer.

The Damson Day Fair takes place on Saturday April 13th at Low Farm, Lyth Valley.

This fun family day out is a celebration of the arrival of Spring in the Lyth Valley, heralded by the Damson Blossom bursting into life.

Alongside the attractions of local crafts, local produce, live musical entertainment and delicious refreshments, entries are invited to the many categories in the competitions. These include Damson based produce and photography, plus some exciting children’s categories in baking, photography, drawing and craft.
