Crosthwaite Community News report March 14th 2019

 

Crosthwaite Village Litter pick takes place in the week of March 18th. If you haven’t signed up yet, please contact Eve Brookes on 015395 68586 regarding the rota.

Messy Church will be held on Saturday March 16th in Crosthwaite School Hall, 10.30-12.30. There will be fun craft activities, stories and family worship, followed by a hot meal. There is no charge and all are welcome. Please contact Lindsay Dobson on 07829 056247 for details.

Crosthwaite and Lyth WI are holding an Open Meeting on Wednesday March 20th in Argles Memorial Hall at 8pm. The speaker is Gary Parsons of Bay Search and Rescue, who will give an illustrated talk about the work and facilities of the Charity prior to an Open visit to their base in August. Admission is £2 .50 for non members including light refreshments, men welcome. There will also be a Bring and Buy stall, proceeds of which will go to Bay Search and rescue. The WI request that donated items be limited to accessories such as scarves, jewellery, bags etc. Please bring any donations on the night.

Damson Day Fair is on Saturday April 13th. This celebration of the arrival of Spring will be a fun filled day out packed with local crafts, local produce and entertainment. There are various competitions for produce and art and craft, including Children’s categories, full details on the Parish website, www.crosthwaiteandlyth.co.uk.

Crosthwaite Show will be held on Saturday September 7th this year. Advance notice of the Art and Photography classes has been given. They are Tree(s), Animal(s), A Structure, so cameras and paintbrushes at the ready!
