Crosthwaite Community News report February 7th 2019

This year's Crosthwaite Panto raised a record sum which will be used towards the upkeep of the Hall. After expenses and donations from raffle proceeds to Cancer Care and Crosthwaite School, ticket and programme sales netted almost two thousand pounds. Packed housed on both nights were treated to a wonderful evening of fun and hilarity, written performed produced and acted by a remarkably talented and dedicated local group. The money raised by the Panto is essential in maintaining the great facility Crosthwaite enjoys in the Argles Memorial Hall, and the efforts of the Panto team are very much appreciated by the whole community.

Crosthwaite Indoor Short Mat Bowling Club is holding an Open Evening on Tuesday February 12th at 7.30pm in the Village Hall. The club is keen to attract new members to join this fun, sociable and very easy to learn activity. There will be a demonstration and a chance to play. All ages are welcome, including juniors (age 12 and up). Refreshments will be served, so come along and join in the fun whilst getting some winter exercise. The club meets on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from October to April, at 7.30pm

Age UK run a number of activities to encourage social interaction, exercise and education for older people in the local area. The Lunch Club meets at The Damson Dene every second Thursday. The next meeting is on Thursday February 14th, to find out more contact Age UK on 01539 728118
