Crosthwaite Community News report January 25th 2019

Parish Councillor Roger Smith received a number of comments on the proposals for a footway through the village at his recent drop-in session. Those comments ranged from being fully supportive of the proposals to be opposed to the whole idea. The Parish Council will be reviewing this feedback at it's next meeting on Tuesday February 5th in the Parish Rooms at 7.30pm. Councillors will decide whether to take the scheme forward or not, and what the scheme should contain.

The AGM of the Landowner of Crosthwaite and Lyth will take place in the School, Crosthwaite on Wednesday February 6th at 7.00pm. All nine Trustees stand for re-election.

Lyth Valley Farmers Discussion Group meet at the Gilpin Inn at 7.30pm on Monday February 4th. The speaker is Mr Ian Gee and the subject is 'Windermere Naval Civil Marine Aviation 1909-1919'.

Crosthwaite Primary school are hosting four Swiss Students for a period of two weeks from June 23rd to July 6th 2019. The students will stay with local families, in pairs, for the duration of their visit. Each year that the school has done this it has been a great success and the college in Switzerland is keen to repeat the experience in 2019.
